A 60-minute frame for leading a group in Ministry to the Lord.
"While they were ministering to the Lord, the Holy Spirit said…" · Acts 13:2
You are a host, not a performer. The Lord is the focus. Your job is to clear the path.
Name what you're doing. People relax when they know the shape of the time.
We're not here to do a Bible study or pray for needs tonight. We're here to be with God — to give Him our attention, our love, our worship. That's it. Don't try to perform. Just be present.
Read one short Scripture aloud — slow.
Invite stillness. Don't rush it.
Let's take a few minutes of silence. Just breathe. Hand Him whatever you walked in with — the day, the week, the worry. He can hold it.
Let 3–5 minutes pass before you speak again. Resist filling the silence.
Invite the group to speak God's names, attributes, and works back to Him. Short. Spirit-led. Not prayers for things — words to Him about Him.
Take a minute, then speak something true about who God is. Out loud, short. "You are faithful." "You are the Good Shepherd." You don't have to be eloquent.
Model it yourself first. Leave space between voices. If silence falls, let it.
Read one short passage three times, slowly, with pauses between readings.
I'll read this three times. The first time, listen for the whole. The second time, listen for a word that catches you. The third time, hold that word and let it become prayer.
Suggested passages: Psalm 23 · Psalm 27 · John 15:1–11 · Romans 8:31–39
One slow song with a clear M2L lyric (about God, to God — not just about us). Or extended spoken worship.
Hold one song longer than usual. Let people stay in it.
Just stay here. Don't move on quickly. Sing it to Him.
Invite the group to listen — for a word, an image, a verse — and write what comes.
Stay quiet. Ask Him: "Lord, what do You want me to know right now?" If something comes, write it down. We'll share a few before we close.
Let some share. Honor what's offered. Don't correct in the moment — discern later if needed.
Don't end limp. Send people out with intention.
Carry one word He gave you into this week. Don't store it — live it. He is with you when you leave this room.
Optional benediction: "Numbers 6:24–26."
