Being with Him.

The Heart Before the How

Before any practice or method, the heart must be understood: M2L is not a technique. It is not a formula. It is not a performance. It is relationship.

God does not merely want work from us. He wants a relationship with us. Ministry TO the Lord is simply living in that relationship — coming to Him because He is your Father and you are His child.

It is a simple way to practice what Jesus said matters most (Luke 10:42): Being with Him.

Consecration: The Soil M2L Grows In

We have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Hebrews 10:10 (NIV)

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God — this is your true and proper worship.

Romans 12:1 (NIV)

Positional Consecration

At salvation, every believer is made holy by Christ's finished work. Your consecrated identity is the core of who you are:

  • Forgiven (Ephesians 1:7)
  • Justified (Romans 5:1)
  • Adopted (Ephesians 1:5)
  • Redeemed (1 Corinthians 6:20)
  • Holy (Hebrews 10:10)
  • Royal Priesthood (1 Peter 2:9)
  • Beloved (Ephesians 1:6)
  • Seated with Christ (Ephesians 2:6)

Practical Consecration

Daily, we respond by surrendering our time, habits, and heart to Him. “I belong to You, Lord. I yield again today. Refine me and draw me near.”

Without consecration, M2L becomes a devotional technique. With it, M2L becomes the natural response of a life that belongs entirely to God.

Essential Clarification: M2L Is Not Prayer for Needs

Most prayer time is filled with requests. This is good and biblical. Yet this kind of prayer is Ministry for the Lord (M4L). Ministry to the Lord is different — it is about loving Him, worshiping Him, and being with Him for His sake alone.

M2L — Ministry TO the Lord

  • Direction: Toward God Himself
  • Focus: Relationship — love, attention, honor
  • Posture: Quiet, worship, listening
  • Result: Hearts changed and filled
  • Place: FIRST — the foundation

M4L — Ministry FOR the Lord

  • Direction: Toward people on God's behalf
  • Focus: Outcomes — asking God to act
  • Posture: Active, petitions, requests
  • Result: Lives and nations changed
  • Place: SECOND — the overflow

M2L is not request-driven prayer, ministry activity, or planning.

M2L is love, relationship, stillness, worship, and affection toward Jesus.

The Jesus Foundation: Where M2L Begins

Every time you draw near to God — alone or with others — begin here:

Remember that Jesus died for our sins so that we could be brought into a restored, intimate relationship with God.

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.

1 Peter 3:18 (NIV)

“Lord Jesus, thank You for dying and rising so I could be close to You. I come to the Father through You, desiring relationship, not performance.”

The Three Dimensions of Biblical Stillness

Together, they form a rhythm: Release → Rest → Remain.

RELEASE(Harpu)Cease strivingHonors HissovereigntyREST(Dumiyyah)Silent waitingHonors HisworthREMAIN(Shaqat / Charash)Peace + Battle trustHonors His powerto fight for us

1. Harpu — Cease Striving

Be still, and know that I am God…

Psalm 46:10 (NIV)

Relax, loosen your grip, and stop striving. Unclenching the fists: “You are God. I am not.”

2. Dumiyyah — Silent Waiting

Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him.

Psalm 62:1 (NIV)

Not emptying the mind but quieting the soul before God. Like a servant waiting at the king's side.

3. Shaqat and Charash — Peace and Battle Silence

The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.

Exodus 14:14 (NIV)

Shaqat — settled peace from righteousness and trust. Charash — battle silence, holding steady while God fights.

The M2L Temple Pattern

God gave His people the temple as a picture of holiness and presence. Each part reveals how we approach Him.

OUTER COURTSConsecration · ThanksgivingHOLY PLACEWorship · Word · AdorationHOLY OF HOLIESIntimacy · EncounterNo agenda but loveBEGIN at center → move OUTWARD

1. The Outer Courts — Consecration

We remember the cross, thank Him for cleansing us, and acknowledge our identity in Christ.

2. The Holy Place — Worship and Communion

We worship, read His Word slowly, declare His names and attributes, and pour out love to Him.

3. The Holy of Holies — Intimacy and Encounter

We linger in His presence with no agenda but love. We listen. We rest. We enjoy Him.

The divine direction: begin in the Holy of Holies (M2L), then move outward into the world (M4L).

The Practices of M2L: A Menu, Not a Rulebook

Use this like a menu, not a strict program. Let the Holy Spirit lead you. Move slowly. You are spending time with the One who loves you.

1. Stillness and Waiting

The quieting posture. Slowing down, silencing the noise, and simply being present to God.

Stillness and Quiet Before God

Sit quietly and whisper, "Here I am, Lord."

Psalm 46:10

2. Adoration and Worship

Declaring who God is. Lifting our hearts upward in love and reverence.

Adoration

"You are holy. You are good. You are merciful."

Psalm 145:3

3. Scripture and Listening

Receiving His Word. Letting Scripture shape the heart and lead to encounter.

Meditating on Scripture

Repeat slowly: "The Lord is my Shepherd…"

Joshua 1:8

4. Receiving and Yielding

The opening posture. Being cleansed, surrendered, and made ready to receive Him.

Thanksgiving

"Thank You for life, strength, and Your mercy today."

Psalm 136:1

5. Love and Communion

The relational heart. Giving love to God and receiving His love in return.

Receiving God's Love

"Father, I receive Your love right now."

Romans 5:5

How to Begin Each Time

  1. 1. Slow down and breathe.
  2. 2. Acknowledge that God is here with you.
  3. 3. Start with the Jesus Foundation.
  4. 4. Choose a few practices from the menu.
  5. 5. Move slowly. Listen. Respond.
  6. 6. Stop wherever God meets you — and stay there.

Loving God with all we are — including our time — because He first loved us.

For Individuals

Begin with the Jesus Foundation. Choose 2–4 practices. Move slowly. Pause where your heart feels drawn. Don't rush to intercession — stay with Him first. This guide helps you learn how to simply be with God, not perform for God.

For Communities

M2L is not only a private discipline. Some of the most powerful movements of God began when His people ministered to Him together— at Antioch, at Solomon's temple, at Pentecost, under Jehoshaphat.

PERSONAL M2LEnochMosesElijahJesusMaryDavidfeedsdeepensCORPORATE M2LAntiochPentecostSolomon's TempleJehoshaphatRev 4-5OVERFLOW INTO M4L

When a gathering begins with M2L, the atmosphere changes, the agenda is held loosely, unity deepens, and people encounter God — not just content.

Key principle: Keep it relational, not structured, not rushed. You are spending time together with the One who loves all of you perfectly.

Daily Anchor and Extended Seasons

Our souls need daily set-apart time and regular extended time with the Lord. Moments keep us connected. Daily time roots us. Extended seasons transform us.

Exchanging Yokes and Burdens

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Matthew 11:28–30 (NIV)

In M2L, we make the exchange. We lay down what we were never meant to carry and take up His. His yoke gives rest instead of restlessness, intimacy instead of insecurity, love instead of labor.

The Holy Spiral

Consecration, M2L, and M4L are not a one-time sequence but a holy spiral — a deepening, upward journey: Identity → Intimacy → Impact. Each turn roots us deeper.
